Microsoft Surface - The new big thing in Market.

Just another tablet ?? ... The answer is NOooooo... It's not just a tablet but much more than that. Probably you can call it a mini touch screen laptop. It's a 10.60" tablet with Quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 and 32 or 64GB memory plus microSD slot. Now you realize why it's not just a tablet.

The main feature of this tablet is its Keyboard. Yup, it has a keyboard too :)

Microsoft will offer two keyboard covers for Surface: Touch Cover and Type Cover. Both, when folded up, serve as protective covers that connect to the Surface via a magnetic strip. When opened, the covers are keyboards. (Source: Wikipedia)

I know you wanna try your hands on it, but you have to wait for it. Till then enjoy the video :)

Project Glass from Google

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

When we see some new stuff somewhere around us, we try to remember its name, go home and google it. Such a pain !!!

Just imagine, life would be so easy if you can search instantly what you see.

Now it's not just imagination, Google has made it a reality. Yes, with the Google glass project it's possible.

Google has developed augmented reality head-mounted display (HMD), which seems similar like a goggles but has much more in it. It has a display in front of your eyes. It works on your voice commands. It shows your appointments, tasks and much more. So whatever you see you can get all information about it in just seconds. In short, it's a complete package and works as your personal assistant.

Check out the video.

Hope you enjoyed the video and the post :)

Google Driverless Car

Sunday, January 15, 2012

Confused ??
Believe it or not, it's real. Google has finally launched its driver less car. They have completed the test drive of thousands of miles. Hence, if you see few cars running on US streets without a driver, don't get shocked.

How it works??

As you can see in the diagram, it has Radars, GPS, Laser, Wheel Encode and many more devices.
Now, the whole process which I understood after reading its mechanism is, before the car starts moving the whole path is decided. The car has its own computer which is in sync with the Google data centers. The car also has a safety driver. After the path is loaded, the car starts moving on the decided path. The main component of the car is the Laser on the top of the car which creates a 3D view of the surroundings and can very precisely identify different kind of objects like pedestrians, buildings, other vehicles, etc.

The camera in the front manages all traffic signals, road signs, etc. For changing lanes, it has a algorithm which takes into consideration the speed, distance with other objects, etc.

Hence, overall its AWESOME :)
